ABU centre for economics and finance organises workshop
Ahmadu Bello University Centre for Economics and Finance has organised a 10 days workshop for academic staff and postgraduate students in order to equip them with requisite skills on statistical software tools.
The opening ceremony, which took place at the centre Conference Hall today (Friday 31st January, 2025) is aimed to equip participants with statistical software tools that will assist in policy making and data analysis in the academia.
The Vice-Chancellor Ahmadu Bello University, Prof. Kabiru Bala, commended the Director of the centre, Prof. Auwalu Haruna for the initiative.
He emphasized the importance of training for everyone in the University environment, stressing that capacity building is necessary for undertaking robust research.
Earlier in a welcome address, the Director centre for Economics and Finance, Prof. Auwalu Haruna, enjoined all participants to be hands on, so as to get the best out of the workshop.
He said the workshop aims to improve the ability to analyze, enhance research methodology, academic teaching by lecturers and gain industry relevant skills.
Prof. Haruna noted that the workshop will focus on improving knowledge on softwares like Eviews, Nvivo, smart PLS and SPSS among others.
The workshop attracted participants from different educational institutions.
