ABU praises ENACTUS team for winning N50m at national competition
The Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof Adamu Ahmed, has commended members the ABU ENACTUS team for their tenacity, which he said remained the backbone of their success.
The ABU ENACTUS team emerged winner of the 2026 Students Ventures Capital Grant competition organised by the Federal Ministry of Education in Lagos, going home with N50 millionin equity free funding.
The Vice-Chancellor thanked the team for flying the university flag high and for ensuring it remained naturally ahead.
Prof Ahmed appreciated the team’s Faculty Advisor, Prof M K Aliyu, for his unending mentorship.
The Vice-Chancellor lamented that it was bad to see the team’s products stay idle without going to the market.
He, however, explained that the grant won would help in ensuring that the products get to the market.
Ahmed assured the team of the university management’s continued support to participate in both national and international competitions.
Presenting the ABU ENACTUS team to the Vice-Chancellor, the Faculty Advisor, Prof M K Aliyu, said the team had been consistent in its existence since 2004 making it the oldest and best of all the 40 ENACTUS teams in the country.
The team, according to him, had consistently won several national and international competitions with PUP industries two main products.
The Team Lead, Abdulfatah Omisanya, said the competition was aimed at finding and supporting student ventures and scaling the to commercial stage.
ABU ENACTUS team won out of 30,000 submissions and is expected to run the business at full scale with the N50 million for a period of eight months under supervision to ensure continued operation.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof Bello Sabo; Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof Raymond B Bako; and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Advancement, Research and Innovation, Prof Sanusi Aliyu Rafindadi were attended the presentation.
Others present included the epresentative of the Registrar, Yakubu Anivbassa, and the Director, Directorate of Research and Innovation, Prof J.J. Maina.
