World Bank team visits ABU ACENPEE for implementation support
A team from the World Bank accompanied by officials of the National Universities Commission (NUC) has called on the Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof. Kabiru Bala, when the team visited the institution’s Africa Centre of Excellence on New Pedagogies in Engineering Education (ACENPEE) for implementation support mission.
The leader of the team, Hyleen Mariaye, told the Vice-Chancellor that they came to assess the performance of the Centre, especially its effort in complying with the World Bank requirements and recommendations.
Mariaye was in company of Prof. Queendaleen Obinaju and Mrs. Simi Sophia Gwoon all from the National Universities Commission (NUC), Abuja.
The team leader commended the effort of the Centre for complying with the recommendations of the World Bank, and that the Bank would continue to ensure the Centre works towards achieving the goal for which it was established.
Responding, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, who was represented by the Dean of School of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Mohammed Nasir Shuiabu, welcomed and thanked the team for the visit and wished them all the best.
Prof. Bala, assured the team of the University’s commitment towards complying with the requirements of the World Bank and NUC.
The Vice-Chancellor was assisted in receiving the team by the Registrar, Malam Rabiu Samaila; the Acting University Librarian, Dr. Abdulhamid Liman Gambo; and Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, Mal. Auwalu Y. Mohammad.
