VC commissions SRC capital projects in ABU
The Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof Adamu Ahmed, has commissioned some capital projects executed by the 2024/2025 Students Representative Council (SRC).
Prof Ahmed was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof Bello Sabo.
The Vice-Chancellor commended the SRC President, Comrade Ibrahim Nazeer Kallah, and his council for the initiative.
Ahmed expressed excitement at the achievements of the Kallah-led administration, especially in the area of giving back to the university.
He particularly commended the SRC and its President for the provision of first aid boxes to the 18 faculties of the university and training of 150 students with basic life support skills.
The Vice-Chancellor also expressed appreciation for the projects and prayed that it would be of tremendous benefits to students and staff of the University.
The Dean, Students Affairs Division, Prof Sahalu B Junaidu, said leadership was all about giving and making impact and commended the students representative body for the initiative.
Prof Junaidu commended the students and called on the incoming leadership to continue to contribute positively to the development of the university.
The President, Students Representative Council (SRC), Comrade Ibrahim Nazeer Kallah, said the projects were informed by pressing needs of students and staff of the university.
“The toilet commissioned was situated between the Sickbay and North Gate as there was no convienience within that area”, Kallah said.
Other projects included fully equipped First Aid boxes at all the faculties, renovation of the SRC secretariat, Faculty Garden in Shika and Faculty of Education.
Kallah thanked University Management for always guiding and supporting the SRC worthy causes.
