United Bank for Africa assures ABU of support to enhance academic excellence
The Regional Manager of the United Bank for Africa (UBA), Kabiru Yusuf, says the bank would continue to give Ahmadu Bello University all the necessary support to enhance its academic excellence.
Yusuf made this known when he paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed, in Zaria today, Thursday, 29th May, 2025.
He said that the bank had a very close relationship with ABU Microfinance Bank expressed UBA’s readiness to assist the University in areas of need anytime.
The regional manager thanked the Vice-Chancellor and the University Management for the warm reception accorded to him.
Responding, Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed, appreciated the regional manager for the visit.
Prof Ahmed recalled that UBA had assisted the University with N5 million in 2005 when it hosted the West African Games Association (WAUG).






Ahmed also said that given the financial challenges faced by the University, they were now looking for much more Public Private Partnerships (PPP).
He urged the bank to do more for the university under its corporate social responsibility so that the institution could have a footprint of the bank in it.
The Vice-Chancellor thanked the regional manager and members of his entourage for the visit and wished them all the best.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof Ahmed Doko Ibrahim; and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Advancement, Research and Innovation, Prof Sanusi Aliyu Rafindadi, were present during the courtesy visit.
Others also present included Bursar, Malam Mohammed Bello Aminu Gurin; and Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, Malam Auwal Mohammed Yusuf.
