The three-member committee was led by Prof. Iona Michaela Balan, alongside her colleagues Ocnian Monica and Gherman Remus.

During their official visit, the delegation paid a courtesy call on Prof. Kabiru Bala, the Vice Chancellor of ABU-Zaria. Prof. Iona, who headed the team, expressed her enthusiasm about the growing collaboration between the two institutions. Notably, this was the first visit by staff from Timișoara to ABU-Zaria, marking a milestone in the exchange program.

Prof. Iona conveyed her delight at the promising start of the collaboration. Despite the disparity in student body sizes, ABU-Zaria has over 50,000 students compared to Timișoara’s 7,000.

The visit also highlighted the success of the program from the perspective of its beneficiaries. An ABU-Zaria doctoral student shared how his experience at Timișoara had been pivotal for his PhD research, noting the valuable exchange of ideas and cultural insights that significantly enriched his academic work.

In his address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Kabiru Bala welcomed the Romanian delegation and expressed his appreciation for the support provided to ABU-Zaria staff and students. He underscored the program’s profound impact on both universities, emphasizing its role in fostering academic and cultural exchange.
