Staff of Department of Finance congratulate Prof Bello Sabo on appointment as ABU Deputy Vice-Chancellor
A delegation of staff members of the Department Finance, Ahmadu Bello University, has paid a courtesy call on the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Prof Bello Sabo.
The Head, Department of Finance, Dr Ibrahim Mohammed, said the delegation came to felicitate with the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration on his appointment and wish him a successful and fruitful tenure.
Dr Mohammed said they were not surprised by the appointment as it was a proof of Prof Sabo’s outstanding track record and commitment to duty.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to guide and assist him in his tenure while calling on him to be a good ambassador of the Department at the centre.
In his remark, former Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, Prof Sani Abdullahi, expressed delight with the development, saying it clearly showed that the Department had the caliber of personalities that could be saddled with high responsibility.
Stressing the importance of the office of Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof Abdullahi expressed confidence that the new DVC Administration would deliver beyond expectation.
Also speaking, the Director, CBN Centre for Economics and Finance, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof Auwal Haruna, described the appointment as their collective responsibility.
He assured that they would assist the DVC in any capacity to make sure he delivered on his mandate.
Responding, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof Bello Sabo, appreciated them for the visit to congratulate him.
Prof Sabo assured them of his commitment and promised to represent their Faculty and Department well.
He assured them of his commitment to the Department.
Prof Sabo also said he would still want to continue his teaching and supervision of MSc and PhD candidates as he would not want the students and Department to suffer his absence.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor thanked them for their well wishes, prayers and pledged support towards his success in office.
Other members of the delegation were Prof Mohammed Zubairu, Dr M.K Lawal and Dr. Sani Mahmud Madobi.
