Representatives of Sinoma Nigeria Ltd visit ABU for joint research laboratory project
Representatives from Sinoma Nigeria Limited, a Chinese firm based in Abuja, were in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria recently for talks in relation to a joint research laboratory project.
The proposed joint research laboratory is between China Building Materials Academy (CBMA), Sinoma (a subsidiary of China Building Materials Institute) and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.








The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of the laboratory was signed on 3rd October, 2024.
The company’s representatives, Mr. Sung Long Li Chung Peng and Mr. Jen Terhile, told the Vice-Chancellor they were at the university to brief the seven member experts involved in the project on the progress made so far.
According to them, the proposed joint research laboratory would focus on conducting researches into the low carbon building materials, new materials and digitalization.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor Prof Adamu Ahmed, thanked Mr. Li Chung Peng and Mr. Terhile for the visit.
Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof Ahmed Doko Ibrahim, the Vice-Chancellor explained the university’s continuous readiness for collaboration.
He said the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Advancement, Research and Innovation, Prof Sanusi Aliyu Rafindadi, would oversee the project to its completion.
He commended the seven member experts and urged them to continue portraying the university in good light.
The seven member experts included Prof T.S Ijimdiya, Department of Civil Engineering; Prof E.D Paul, Department of Chemistry; Prof F. Asuke, Department of Metallurgical and Materialsb Engineering; and Dr T.K Bello, Department of Chemical Engineering.
Others were Dr A. Usman, Department of Civil Engineering; Dr H.I Bello, Department of Glass and Silicate Technology; and Dr. S. Gambo, Department of Building.
