Remain disciplined, polite in discharging your duties, Vice-Chancellor urges ABU security personnel
The Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof Kabiru Bala, has enjoined the institution’s security personnel to remain disciplined and polite in the discharge of their official duties.
Declaring open a workshop for the security personnel on ‘Effective Guard and Management System’, which was held at Abdullahi Smith Lecture Theatre on Thursday, 17th October, 2024, Prof Bala commended the University Security Division for organising the workshop.
The Vice-Chancellor also described the workshop as “apt and being part of capacity development”, stressing that the training received should be transmitted to the service.
Prof Bala was ably represented at the occasion by his Special Assistant, Malam Auwal Mohammed Yusuf.
The Ag. Chief Security Officer, Malam Ashiru T. Zango, in his opening remark, expressed appreciation to the resource person, Malam Hafiz Shehu Ringim, who is the Manager, International Security Organisation (ISO-SEC), Northern Region, for conducting the training to sharpen the skills of the security personnel.
“I wish to first and foremost express our gratitude to the University Management for graciously granting approval for the training to be conducted for the personnel of the Division. This portrays the importance the Management attaches to matters of security.
“Since my assumption of office as the Ag. Chief Security Officer, I have always maintained three cardinal objectives, namely: training, unity and discipline to accomplish.
“Therefore, it has always been my desire to ensure that the university security is a formidable and well-structured outfit with personnel that are united, well trained and highly disciplined”, he said.
The resource person, Dr. Hafiz Shehu Ringim, in his remark, thanked the University Management for finding him worthy to give the training.
He also commended the Ag. Chief Security Officer for making such training available for his officers.
