Prof. Kaura replaces Prof. Dabo as Dean Faculty of Engineering
Prof. Ibrahim A Muhammad-Dabo has officially handed over the mantle of leadership as the Dean of Faculty of Engineering to Prof. J.M Kaura.
The brief but colourful handing-over ceremony took place at the Faculty’s Boardroom today (Wednesday, 16th April 2025).
The outgoing Dean, Prof. Mohammed-Dabo, appreciated both the teaching and non-teaching staff of the Faculty for the support they accorded him during his tenure.
He lauded the efforts of Heads of Department that served during his tenure for their diligence, dedication and commitment towards the development of the Faculty.
The outgoing Dean noted that without the support from the HODs, he would not have achieved what had been attained so far.
He said that all the credits of his achievements would go to his foot soldiers for their untiring and selfless efforts.
Dabo said that as a human he knew that he must have offended some people in the course of discharging his duties.
He, therefore, asked for forgiveness from all the Faculty members, as he too had forgiven them.
While wishing the new Dean a successful tenure, Prof. Dabo urged members of the Faculty to extend the same support they gave him to the new Dean in order to succeed.
In a remark, the new Dean, Prof. J.M Kaura, congratulated Prof Dabo on what he described as a “successful and innovative tenure”.
Prof. Kaura also described Prof. Dabo as a man of unquestionable integrity who had set a good pace in the Faculty for others to follow.
The new Dean called on the entire faculty to come together and move engineering forward.
Prof. Kaura thanked the members of the Faculty for having confidence in him and for the opportunity to preside over the Faculty.
In their respective remarks, all the Heads of Department assured the new Dean of their support and loyalty for the betterment of the Faculty.
Highlights of the event were presentation of lapels to deserving staff and goodwill messages.
