Prof Doko hands over to Prof Sabo as ABU Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration
Prof Ahmed Doko Ibrahim today handed over to Prof Bello Sabo as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Prof Doko’s tenure came to an end on Sunday, 31st August, 2025.
Speaking during the handing over on Monday, 1st September, 2025, Prof Doko said the office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration was an extension of the office of the Vice-Chancellor.
Doko noted that the responsibilities of the office were enormous and that the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor was expected to assist the Vice-Chancellor in all ramifications.
He said by law, the “Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration is a Principal Officer, Member of Council, Convocation, Congregation and Management, among others”.
Doko said the Deputy Vice-Chancellor is also the Chairman of several Boards such as ABU Press, ABU Hotels, Demonstration Secondary School, and many others.
He congratulated the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor and asked not to hesitate calling on him each time he needed any support.
Responding, the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof Bello Sabo, acknowledged the tremendous achievements of Prof Doko in his four years in office.
The new Deputy Vice-Chancellor noted that Prof Doko performed wonderfully well and supported the Vice-Chancellor in so many activities of the university.
Prof Sabo assured of his determination to build on the legacies already established by Prof Doko.
He also said he would try to justify the confidence reposed in him by the Vice-Chancellor.
Prof Sabo thanked Prof Doko for the smooth and seamless transition and wished him well in all endeavors.
