Prof Bello Sabo emerges as ABU DVC Administration, just as Prof Raymond Bako returns as DVC Academic
Prof Bello Sabo has emerged as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Ahmadu Bello University, following his unanimous endorsement at the institution’s Senate meeting held today.
Similarly, Prof Raymond B Bako returned as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic after members of the Senate unanimously endorsed him at the meeting.


The endorsements of both Sabo and Bako followed their nomination by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed, who presided over the meeting held on Thursday, 28th August, 2025.
Prof Sabo, who was Dean, Faculty of Administration, Ahmadu Bello University, will replace Prof Ahmed Doko Ibrahim, whose tenure will come to an end on Sunday, 31st August, 2025.
Sabo, a professor of Business Administration, will assume office after the University Governing Council approves his endorsement.
Prof Bako’s endorsement for a second term is also subject to approval of the Governing Council.
Bako is currently the Centre Leader of the Africa Centre of Excellence on New Pedagogies in Engineering Education (ACENPEE).
Commenting, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed, congratulated both Sabo and Bako on their emergence and wished them success.
The Vice-Chancellor also congratulated Prof Ahmed Doko Ibrahim on successful completion of his second and final term of two years as Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration.
