NYA appreciates ABU Management, SPESSECE, ACENPEE, others for support towards conference success
The Nigerian Young Academy (NYA) has expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof Adamu Ahmed, and the University Management for the wonderful support towards the success of its 15th International Conference.
The conference was hosted in the university from 25th to 28th August, 2025.
It also expressed gratitude to the Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards Enhancement Centre of Excellence (SPESSECE) for the financial support that made the event a resounding success.
The appreciation was contained in a statement by the immediate past Publicity Secretary of the Academy, Dr Nuraddeen Nasiru Garba.
Equally, the academy extended its profound gratitude to the Deputy Governor of Kano State, His Excellency, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo.
Gwarzo was represented by the Hon Commissioner of Science & Technology, Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Kofar Mata, who declared the conference open in his capacity as Special Guest of Honour.
It further acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the Chairman of the Occasion, Prof Abubakar Sani Sambo.
Sambo, President of the Nigerian Academy of Science (NAS), is the Commissioner of Education, Kaduna State.
The academy also thanked the Keynote Speaker, Prof
Raymond Bako, DVC, Academic, and Prof Sanusi Aliyu Rafindadi, DVC, Advancement, Research and Innovation, for delivering a plenary lecture.
It acknowledged the contributions of other speakers and facilitators, including Prof. Ganiyu Oboh, Prof. Rabia Salihu Sa’id, Prof. J.J. Maina, Dr. U.M. Kaisan, Prof. M.N. Shuaibu, Dr. I.I. Obianyo, and Prof. A.Y. Attah.
NYA was also grateful to the Africa Centre of Excellence on New Pedagogies in Engineering Education (ACENPEE), and CBN Centre for Economics and Finance.
It finally said that all the contributions made reflected the spirit of collaboration, excellence, and services that continued to drive the academy’s mission of advancing science, leadership, and societal impact in Nigeria and beyond.
