Ahmadu Bello University is among the institutions shortlisted for participation in the Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDICE) programme.
The institution was notified of its selection for the programme in a letter to the Vice-Chancellor by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The letter signed by NUC Executive Secretary Prof Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu said ABU was shortlisted for its demonstrated potential and readiness to contribute meaningfully to the transformative initiative.

The iDICE project is a strategic national initiative aimed at promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital skills development within Nigeria’s higher education system.
The project is jointly supported by the Federal Government through the Bank of Industry (BOI), in collaboration with key development partners, including the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), and the Agence Franchise de Development (AFD).
It also seeks to foster the emergence of job – creating enterprises and equip young Nigerians with 21st-century skills in the areas of technology, creativity, and innovation.
This, according to the NUC Executive Secretary, would be achieved by establishing digital innovation hubs within select tertiary institutions to nurture talent, drive enterprise development, and foster industry – academic linkages.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof Raymond B Bako, briefed the iDICE Project Lead, Prof Sahalu B Junaidu, alongside other members of the team on the development.
