Notice of Entrance Examination for Diploma Programmes

The Iya Abubakar Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IAIICT), Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, cordially invites all prospective candidates to the Entrance Examination for admission into its Diploma Programmes.

Details of the Examination:
Venue: CBT Center, Opposite Gymnasium, ABU Main Campus, Samaru, Zaria.
Date: Thursday, 19th December 2024.
Time: 8:00 AM (prompt).

Candidates are required to:
1. Arrive at the examination venue at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
2. Come with the following:
  - A copy of the application form (mandatory).
  - Writing materials and any other necessary documents as specified during the application process.

NNPCL inspects ABU Centre for inland Basins Studies

A team of staff from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) today in Zaria inspected Ahmadu Bello University’s Centre for Inland Basins Studies (CIBS) building with a view to furnishing and equipping the edifice with the relevant administrative, teaching and research facilities.


It would be recalled that the oil company had approved the construction of the Centre at the University, which was commissioned on 10th March, 2022, after its completion.
The team members, led by Adamu Sani, Manager, Education, NNPCL Foundation, were first at the University Senate Building for a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala.


The team leader told the Vice-Chancellor that they were in the University for “on the spot assessment” of the Centre with a view to furnishing and equipping it.
Sani pointed out that NNPCL cherished ABU and that the oil company was passionate about the Centre as it would add value to the development of petroleum exploration and exploitation programmes in Nigeria.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, who was represented by the Director, Directorate of University Advancement, Prof. Sani Abba Aliyu, mni, explained that it was the intention of the University that the relationship between ABU and NNPCL would be strengthened.


The Vice-Chancellor said that the University, which is 70 percent science-based, would continue to keep interaction with the industry to be able to always update its curriculum to reflect the current reality.
The visitors were later conveyed to the CIBS building at the Phase II of the University for the assessment, where they were conducted round by the Director, Centre for Inland Basins Studies (CIBS), Prof. Umar Adamu Danbatta, along with the senior academic staff of the Department of Geology, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.


Other members of the NNPCL Assessment Team, led by the Manager, Education, NNPCL Foundation, Adamu Sani, were Dr. Zainab Tahir Umar, Hammed Tirimisiyu, Murtala Shawai and Engr. Mustapha Adamu.
They also included Martin A. Caino, Cookey Granville, Aliu Okeme, Amira Faruk, and Abdulazeez Abdulmujeeb.


Those, who assisted the Director, CIBS, Prof. Umar Adamu Danbatta, to conduct members of the team round the Centre, included the Head, Department of Geology, Prof. Muhammad Lawal Garba, as well as Prof. Tavershima Najime, Prof. Haladu Hamza, Prof. V.O. Obiosio, Prof. Ibrahim Hamidu and Dr. Shehu Suleiman Magaji all from the Department of Geology. Malam Ishaq Murtala, who is the Administrative Secretary of the Centre, was also in their company.
