NBTE team arrives at ABU’s Samaru College of Agriculture for accreditation
A 34-member team from National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) today (Monday, 4th December, 2023) arrived at Samaru College of Agriculture, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, for resource inspection and re-accreditation of academic programmes.
The team’s visit is in compliance with the Board’s national mandate as stipulated in the NBTE enabling law establishing it.
Welcoming members of the team at the College’s newly commissioned lecture theatre in Samaru, Zaria, today, the College Provost, Prof. E.M. Shaibu-Imodagbe, recalled that the first visit to the School was in 1989 to carry out the regulation of its academic programmes.
“Since then, there have been regular visits to carry out due diligence on our programmes as and when due. Today, as always, we readily welcome the NBTE team, as they undertake this national assignment in our College”, he said.
The Provost also said that the Board would continue to be looked upon as a viable partner in progress, saying that the College really appreciated the Board’s continued role in enhancing its programme to national standard.
Responding, the leader of the team, Dr. Rufai Ibrahim, urged Management of the Division of Agricultural Colleges to continue to support the College programmes and other areas that needed intervention to meet with the Board’s standards.
Dr. Ibrahim, who is the Board’s Deputy Director, Technical Division, thanked the Provost and College Management Staff for the warm reception accorded him and members of his team.
