The meeting, which will be presided over by the Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof. Kabiru Bala, will be rounded off on Wednesday, 4th December.
The three-day event, themed ‘Climate Change: Rethinking Agric Research, Extension and Cropping Patterns in Nigeria’, will be held at NAERLS Ultra-modern Conference Hall, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Prof. Sani Miko, former Country Director, SG 2000, will give a keynote lecture at the event.
The main focus of the strategic meeting, according to the NAERLS Executive Director, Prof. Y.A. Sani, is to review the achievements in agricultural research and extension activities carried out in 2024 and plan for the year 2025.
Prof. Sani, who highlighted the key output of the meeting, also stressed that it is a harmonised research extension activity in the form of synchronized calendar activities.
“This is to minimise duplication, wastage of resources and increase effectiveness of participation and partnership among the stakeholders”, he said.
The event is expected to bring together agricultural scientists, various specialists, and other key stakeholders to brainstorm on the theme for the meeting with a view to achieving the set objectives.
