Members of Faculty of Environmental Design call on ABU’s new Vice-Chancellor
A delegation of the members of the Faculty of Environmental Design led by the Dean, Prof. Abdullahi Abubakar, has paid a courtesy visit to the new Vice-Chancellor Ahmadu Bello University, Prof. Adamu Ahmed.
Briefing the Vice-Chancellor on the purpose of the visit, the Dean stated that the visit was to congratulate him on his assumption as the chief administrative officer of the University.
Prof. Abubakar noted that the Faculty of Environmental Design was a loyal faculty that had served all Vice-Chancellors and was willing to continue to do so.
He said that Prof. Ahmed had served in various capacities, saying that one that easily came to mind was being a commissioner in Bauchi State and was still attending postgraduate lectures and seminars.
Prof Abubakar further said that the Deanery of the faculty would also not forget the outstanding performances of the Vice-Chancellor when he chaired the faculty ad-hoc accreditation committee that led to the success of the faculty’s accreditation exercise in 2024.
Prof. Abubakar thanked the Deputy Vice-Chancellors and all principal officers for their contributions and support to the immediate past Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kabiru Bala, and urged them to do the same to Prof. Adamu Ahmed.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Adamu Ahmed, appreciated members of the faculty for the visit and for always praying for him.
He said he considered himself privileged to have inherited a team with whom he had built a lot of confidence and rapport for a number of years.
Prof. Ahmed pledged to build on all the achievements of his predecessors while stressing that in the next five years the University should be able to commercialize its researches.
The Vice-Chancellor called on the faculty members to remember that they were here for the students and invest around that to see that the University produced much better graduates.
Those, who supported the Vice-Chancellor in receiving the faculty members, included the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Prof. Ahmed Doko Ibrahim; Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Prof. Raymond B Bako; and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Advancement, Research and Innovation, Prof. Sanusi Aliyu Rafindadi.
Others were representative of the Registrar, Dr. Aliyu Dalha Kankia; representative of the Bursar, Mal Garba Shehu; and Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, Mal Auwal Yusuf Mohammed, among others.
