Getty Conservation Institute donates dozens of publications to ABU
Ahmadu Bello University has taken delivery of dozens of publications from the Getty Conservation Institute, USA.
The generous donation of the books was facilitated by Terry Little, a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Archaeology and Heritage Studies, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Little was at the Getty Trust in Los Angeles, California, the United States, where he recently completed a three-month residency as a conservation scholar.
Terry Little presented the books to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, in his office in the presence of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Ahmed Doko Ibrahim; Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Advancement, Research, and Innovation, Prof. Aliyu Rafindadi Sanusi; and Registrar, Malam Rabiu Samaila.
Little told the Vice-Chancellor that the publications cover theoretical and practical aspects of conserving and managing museum collections, monuments, and archaeological sites.
Receiving the publications, the Vice-Chancellor thanked the Getty Conservation Institute for the donation and Terry Little for facilitating the gesture.
The Vice-Chancellor said that the books would be housed in the University’s Kashim Ibrahim Library, providing valuable resources for students and staff in the fields of archaeology, architecture, heritage studies, and conservation.
