Faculty of Life Sciences holds orientation for fresh students
The Faculty of Life Sciences, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria has organised an orientation for fresh students admitted into the Faculty for the 2024/2025 academic session.
In a welcome address, the Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, Prof. Maryam Aminu, FSAN, congratulated the newly admitted student on getting the opportunity to embark on a journey of discovery, growth and evidence.






The Dean urged them to see their journey in life sciences as a gateway to endless opportunities in research, healthcare, biotechnology, environmental sustainability and much more.
She also urged them to embrace their courses with determination, seek knowledge beyond classroom, engage in research and take advantage of mentorship from the faculty members.
The Dean encouraged the new students to develop a spirit of hard work, discipline and perseverance.
The Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof. Kabiru Bala, told the students to count themselves lucky to be among those admitted into ABU.
Represented by the Dean, Student Affairs, Prof. Sahalu B Junaidu, the Vice-Chancellor enjoined the students to dress well and focus on their studies so as to graduate in the next four years.
Others who spoke at the orientation were the Director, University Health Services, Prof. M.D. Maigatari; and Director, Counselling and Human Development Centre, Dr. S.M. Makarfi.
The orientation programme was designed to introduce students to academic systems, regulations and support structures available to them.
