ABU’s Prof. Emmanuel Adewale bags Paul Muchene Fellow Award
Prof. Emmanuel Adewale Adedokun of the Department of Computer Engineering, Ahmadu Bello University, has been selected as the recipient of Paul Muchene Fellow Award.
Adewale’s selection for the award was announced on the floor of Senate on Thursday, 6th March, 2025 by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala. The Senate congratulated the recipient.
The Paul Muchene Fellow Award is a tribute to Paul Muchene, an ICANN Fellowship Program Manager, who passed away in August 2022.
Similarly, the Senate of the University congratulated Prof. Gwari Williams of the Department of Industrial Design, on his re-election for the second tenure as the National President, Textile Researchers Association of Nigeria (TRAN).
The Vice-Chancellor also announced the donation of a consignment of drugs to the School of Basic and Remedial Studies (SBRS) Clinic, Funtua for the benefit of both staff and students.
The drugs, worth about three million Naira, were donated by the Katsina State Government through its Hon Commissioner of Health, Alhaji Musa Adamu Funtua.
Also, the Senate congratulated Prof. Shehu I. Chafe of the Department Fine Arts on his appointment as Chairman, Governing Council of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talatan Mafara, by the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, His Excellency Dauda Lawal.
It further felicitated with the Head of Department of French, Dr. Miriam Birma, who has been appointed as the Coordinator of University French Teachers’ Association of Nigeria (UFTAN).
