Faculty of Administration organises international conference held at Kongo Campus

The Faculty of Administration, Ahmadu Bello University, has organised a three-day International Conference held at the Kongo Campus of the institution from 3rd – 5th June, 2024.

The Conference, ‘Transformative Government for Renewed Hope: Building a Resilient Public Service for Sustainable Development in Nigeria’, was declared open by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala.

The Vice-Chancellor, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Ahmed Ibrahim Doko, noted that the fall of civilization could be attributed to failure of governance and administration.

He explained that the progress of human race depended on the capacity to develop, reform and strengthen the institutions of governance and administration.

Prof. Bala also emphasised the collective responsibility of academics to lead the discussion in research for innovative solutions to the challenges of development.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed the belief that the conference would offer great opportunity by way of interaction and sharing of experience.

He congratulated the Faculty for the conference and urged them to sustain the spirit of such exercise in the future.

The Chairman of the Conference, Director, Institute of Administration, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Prof. Siraj Abdulkarim, said that the conference would be a turn around of the present situation in the country and wished that it would add value to the community and the country in general.

In his address of welcome, the Dean, Faculty of Administration, Prof. Musa Idris, expressed immense gratitude to the keynote speaker, lead paper presenter, sponsors, participants and the University Management for their efforts and support towards the success of the conference.

The lead paper presenter, Prof. Usman Tar, Hon. Commissioner of Information and Internal Security, Borno State, represented by Prof. Kabir Isa Muhammad, spoke on “The Rise of Non-State Actors and Human Security in Nigeria: Implications for National Security and Global Governance (2000-2024)”.
