C’ttee on Operationalizing ABU Business School submits report
The Committee on Operationalizing Ahmadu Bello University Business School has submitted its report to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala.
The report was submitted today (Friday, 14th February, 2025), at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room, Main Campus, Samaru, Zaria.

Submitting the report, the Chairman of the Committee, Prof. Raymond B Bako, said the committee was set up by Senate to look into how ABU Business School could operate as a revenue generating arm of the University.
Prof. Bako, who is also the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, noted that the committee had its inaugural meeting on 16th January, 2025.
The Chairman stated that the report contains the purpose of the Business School and the organizational structure regarding curriculum.
He explained that the ABU Business School is in the strategic plans of the University, and that they hope to see it operating as the best in the country.
Prof. Bako said they are submitting the report to the University Management for further action and expressed hope to see it operate without financial demands from the Management.
Responding, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, commended the Chairman of the Committee and other members for a job well done.
Prof. Bala expressed optimism that all problems encountered before would be have been solved.
The Vice-Chancellor converted the committee to implementation committee to be chaired by the Director, CBN Centre of Excellence, Prof. Auwalu Haruna.
At the end, suggestions were made on members that will constitute the Governing Board of the School, in which it was agreed that members should be picked from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Security Exchange Commission (SEC), and Chartered Institute of Bankers (CIB).
