Council approves new career structure for ABU Staff School
The Governing Council of Ahmadu Bello University has approved the implementation of the new career structure for ABU Staff School.
This was disclosed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, on the occasion of the School’s 35th Annual Speech and Prize Giving Day which took place at Mamman Kontagora Square today (Wednesday, 23rd July, 2025).
Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Advancement, Research and Innovation, Prof. Sanusi Aliyu Rafindadi, the Vice-Chancellor assured that the University Management would continue to support the School within its limited resources.
Prof. Ahmed also stressed the need for the School’s alumni, Parents Teachers Association (PTA) and other stakeholders to continue to assist the School as funding from government was grossly inadequate.
“I assure you if all the stakeholders would come together, a lot would be achieved in moving the School forward to produce excellent pupils who would eventually be the leaders of tomorrow,” he said.
The Vice-Chancellor commended the School Management and staff for their effort in making it to live up to expectation.
He congratulated all the graduating pupils and urged them to be good ambassadors of the School and Ahmadu Bello University wherever they went.
Earlier, the Headmaster, ABU Staff School, Malam Umar Bala, expressed gratitude to the University Governing Council for approving the School’s new career structure and other administrative matters surrounding additional qualifications.
Bala also thanked the Vice-Chancellor and University Management for the support and assistance to the School.
He appreciated the efforts of ABU Staff School Parents Teachers Association (ABUSSPTA), school alumni, and many others for the unwavering support towards the school’s academic development.
