Contractors take over site for reconstruction of ABU internal roads by Kaduna govt
Ela Engineering and Construction Nigeria Ltd, the contractors engaged by Kaduna State government for reconstruction of internal roads within Ahmadu Bello University have taken over the site.
This was made known on Thursday, 5th February, 2026, by the Managing Director of the Company, Engineer Wassim Kabbazi, when he called on Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed.
Engineer Kabbazi disclosed that his company and the University Management needed to put heads together to ensure that the project was achieved.
He said it was very proper that they intimated the University Management before they fully took over the site.
Kabbazi stated that if anybody had any complain, they would be available to attend to it.
Earlier in a remark, the Director, Physical Planning and Municipal Services (PP&MS), Dr M H Mukhtar, explained that work at the site would commence in earnest.
Dr Mukhtar said that the contractors’ equipments were already at the site, but that it was very important that they visited the Vice-Chancellor to intimate him.
Responding, Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed, thanked the contractors for the visit.
Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof Bello Sabo, the Vice-Chancellor said that he was excited that the contractors were at the University as a follow up to the groundbreaking two weeks ago.
Prof Ahmed expressed gratitude to the Kaduna State Government for fulfilling its promise.
The Vice-Chancellor assured the contractors of the University’s cooperation towards actualizing the project.
Prof Ahmed was supported in receiving the guests by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, Prof Raymond Bako; and Campus Planner, TPL Abubakar Sani.
