Alumni plan ‘Renovate A Room’ project for ABU students halls of residence
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter of Ahmadu Bello University Alumni Association has planned to undertake a renovation project in the students halls of residence across the two campuses of the University in Zaria.
This was disclosed by the Chairperson of the FCT Chapter of the alumni association, Dr. Asabe Mustapha, when she led a delegation of the association on a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof. Adamu Ahmed.
She said the project, tagged ‘Renovate A Room’, was to be carried out in phases and funded by alumni and friends of Ahmadu Bello University.


Dr. Mustapha explained that the FCT chapter of the alumni association would work closely with the University administration to ensure efficient planning and successful completion of the project.
She congratulated Prof. Ahmed on his emergence as the 13th Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University and wished him success in steering the affairs of the institution.
The chairperson of the alumni association, who was in company of her Secretary-General, Hajiya Fatima Yusuf; and Financial Secretary, Comrade Isa Salihu, pledged the cooperation of the chapter during his tenure.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, welcomed the delegation and thanked them for creating the time to come back home.
Ahmed commended the initiative of the chapter as the comfort, welfare of students and alumni future mattered greatly to the administration.
The Vice-Chancellor said the initiative was essential and assured the chapter of the cooperation of the University.
The Vice-Chancellor was assisted by the Director, Directorate of Advancement and International Education, Prof. Sani Abba Aliyu, mni, in the receiving the delegation.
