Ahmadu Bello University, Huawei meet on ABU ICT infrastructure revamp

Ahmadu Bello University and Enterprise Solutions Group of Huawei Nigeria have further discussed the proposal for revamping the ICT infrastructure of the university.

Both organisations met in Abuja on Tuesday, 4th November, 2025.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed, represented the university while the Director, Enterprise Solutions Group, Mars Zhangmi, stood in for Huawei Nigeria.

Essentially, the meeting was to further deliberate on the technical solution proposed by Huawei Nigeria for the revamp of the ABU ICT infrastructure.

Earlier meetings on the project were held in May, 2025 in both Abuja and Zaria.

The university now awaits the final proposal (documents) for its internal consideration.

During yesterday’s meeting, there were also a presentation and a series of discussions on the Huawei Digital Financial Solution (DFS).

The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied by the Director, IAIICT, Prof Adewale Adedokun; and Deputy Director, IAIICT, Dr Bashir Sani.

The Lead, ABU Huawei Advanced ICT Support Centre, Prof M B Mu’azu, was also at the meeting. Prof Mu’azu is also the Director, Distance Learning Centre, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
