ABU’s Khaleed, Kaisan now fellows of Nigerian Young Academy
The Nigerian Young Academy (NYA) has conferred its fellowship on two young scholars from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
They were honoured at the 15th International Conference of the Academy that was held at the university.
They are Dr Abubakar Abubakar Khaleed, Department of Physics and Dr Muhammad Usman Kaisan, Department of Mechanical Engineering.
Dr Khaleed, a Fellow of the Nigeria Science Leadership Program, is a Senior Lecturer.
He is the Vice President of the Nigerian Young Academy (NYA).
Khaleed, a specialist in radiation shielding calculations, is the Vice President of the Nigerian Young Academy.
Dr Muhammad Usman Kaisan, presently a Reader, was a one time Deputy Director, Equipment Maintenance and Development Centre (EMDC), Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
In addition, Kaisan is a Fellow of three professional bodies namely: Automotive and Locomotive Engineers Institute, African Society for Engineering Management, and Solar Energy Society of Nigeria.
A member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), among many others, Kaisan was in 2019 selected as one of the most successful and talented engineers to attend the Global Grand Challenges Summit in London.
The two scholars were conferred with the fellowship of the Nigerian Young Academy by a distinguished engineer, Prof Abubakar Sani Sambo.
Sambo, a Commissioner of Education, Kaduna State, congratulated them and charged them to be good ambassadors.
A renowned professor of mechanical engineering, Sambo also urged them to mentor other young academics for the development the Nigerian education sector.
