ABU Vice-Chancellor will have lunch with 100 select students tomorrow
. Chairman, Alternative Bank, Muhtar Bakare, to give keynote address at the occasion
The Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof Adamu Ahmed, will have lunch with 100 students at Yusufu Bala Usman Hall tomorrow.
Expectedly, Prof Ahmed will use the occasion to engage the students in open discussion with the aim of bridging any communication gap that may exist between the students and university management.
The event will be the maiden edition of ‘Lunch with the Vice-Chancellor’ programme introduced by Prof Ahmed soon after assumption of office as the Vice-Chancellor.
Participation in the lunch will be representative, diverse, and inclusive to reflect the larger and diverse body of students in the university.
One hundred students are to participate in each lunch programme designed to be held four times a year.
The 100 students billed for tomorrow’s lunch were selected through the filled Google form advertised to students for indication of interest.
The selection process was essentially to ensure fair and diverse representation across faculties, departments, gender, graduate/undergraduate, special needs, and representative council.
The Chairman, The Alternative Bank, Muhtar Bakare, will give a keynote address at the occasion while Prof Sulaiman Abdullahi Karwai, a renowned scholar of business administration from Ahmadu Bello University will give a talk on leadership.
A Senior Partner, Ahmed Zakari and Company (Chartered Accountants), Ambassador Shuaibu Ahmed, will be the Special Guest of Honour and Chairman of the Occasion.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed, will declare the event open with opening remarks.
