ABU VC visits UI counterpart in Ibadan today

In a significant move for academic collaboration and partnership, the Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof Adamu Ahmed, today visited his counterpart from the University of Ibadan, Prof Kayode Adebowale.

Prof Ahmed called on the UI Vice-Chancellor in his office at the institution’s Administration Block on Monday, 22nd September, 2025.

The visit sought to enhance educational initiatives and explore opportunities for joint research projects by both institutions.

The two vice-chancellors also highlighted the importance of fostering strong connections within Nigeria’s higher education landscape.

Speaking during the visit, Prof Ahmed emphasised ABU’s commitment to improving academic standards and innovation.

He was enthusiastic about potential collaborative programmes that could benefit students and faculties across the two universities.

In his response, the Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Prof Kayode Adebowale, thanked Prof Ahmed for the visit.

Prof Adebowale said such a visit could pave the way for increased cooperation and shared knowledge that were vital in addressing current educational challenges.

The Provost, College of Medical Sciences, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof M S Shehu; and Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, Dr Sani Ibrahim Kaita, accompanied Prof Ahmed on the visit to the UI Vice-Chancellor.
