ABU to get UNDP Co-creation Clinics for Unipods Innovation Hub project

A team from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has visited Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and discussed the setting up of Co-creation Clinics for the Unipods Innovation Hub project in the institution. ABU is among the seven selected universities for the UNDP project in Africa.

The team leader, Mrs. Aisha Usman, told the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, when they called on him that the project aimed at encouraging students to explore their potentials and ideas.

Mrs. Usman, who explained that the project would also make tremendous impact on exceptional students, said that the initiative would further assist students have an assessment of various areas for achieving the goal of the project.

Receiving the team in his office, the Vice-Chancellor, ably represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Ahmed Doko Ibrahim, described the visit as “an important one” given its purpose.

The Vice-Chancellor assured the team of the University’s commitment towards giving all the necessary support to ensure the success of the project.

Other members of the UNDP team on the visit and discussion for the project led by Mrs Aisha Usman, were Mr. Edmund Ekanem, Dr. Ramatu Sha’ban, Dr. Rasheed Abdul’aziz, Dr. Abdulsalam Galadima, Dr. Samson James, and Dr. Kabir Umar.

The Registrar, Malam Rabiu Samaila; Bursar, M.B. Gurin, represented by the Deputy Bursar, Mr. Steve Kwaya; and Ag. University Librarian, Dr. Abdulhamid Liman Gambo, assisted the Vice-Chancellor in receiving the team.

ABU’s UNDP Unipods Focal Person, Prof. J.J. Maina, who is the Director, Research and Innovation, Ahmadu Bello University; and the Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, Malam Auwal Yusuf Mohammed, were equally present during the visit and discussion.
