ABU takes delivery of roofing materials donated by 1976/77 SBS Class
The School of Basic Studies (SBS) Class of 1976/77, Ahmadu Bello University, has donated a large quantity of roofing materials for repairs of roof top of Kashim Ibrahim Library (KIL).
This story is reproduced to clarify that the donation was indeed made by 1976/77 SBS Class and not SBS Class of 1975/76 as earlier published on Tuesday, 23rd December, 2025.
The roofing materials are specifically meant for the repairs of roof top of Kashim Ibrahim Library (KIL).
Delivering the materials to the university, Mr. Bala Shehu, the Regional Manager, Northern Nigeria of Plusworld, the contractors handling the project, said they had brought 30 buckets of hydro seal premium elastomeric water proofing membrane.
Shehu said they would deliver about 52 more of the materials, making it a total of 82.
The elastomeric water proofing membrane is the material used in fixing roof tops to prevent them from leaking, particularly during rainy season.
Speaking, Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Prof Adamu Ahmed, expressed gratitude to the donors for the donation.
Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof Bello Sabo, the Vice-Chancellor also thanked the SBS Class of 1976/77 for the kind generosity.
Prof Ahmed, described the gesture as the best of its kind, urged the contractors to do a good work.
