ABU commends Prof M K Aliyu for shepherding its ENACTUS team to greatness

The Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof Adamu Ahmed, has applauded the unwavering commitment of Prof M K Aliyu in building the institution’s ENACTUS team over a period of 16 years now as its advisor.

Prof Ahmed made the commendation when the advisor presented members of the team and the various innovative projects that won different prizes in many competitions around the world.

Receiving the team, the Vice-Chancellor commended them for always making the university proud.

He also lauded the team for initiating various innovative projects capable of solving societal problems and encouraged them to seek grants as well as look into ways of commercialising the projects.

Earlier presenting members of the team before the Vice-Chancellor, the ABU ENACTUS Advisor, Prof M K Aliyu, disclosed that the team won over ten thousand dollars ($10,000) in prizes at different competitions this year alone.

Aliyu , a senior professor at the Department of Archeology and Heritage Studies, said that this year’s ENACTUS projects were all environmentally based.

The team, according to him, had the capacity of producing 3000 litres of paint weekly from plastic wastes.

Commenting, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof Raymond B Bako, lauded the team for living up to expectation.

Prof Bako was particularly thrilled by “the diversity of members of the team united by knowledge”.

He urged them to go further in commercialising their innovations even after leaving school.

Also commenting, the Registrar, Malam Rabiu Samaila, appreciated the team for bringing the university recognition at global level.

While wishing them all the best, the Registrar also advised them not to neglect their primary assignment in the university.
