Notice of Entrance Examination for Diploma Programmes

The Iya Abubakar Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IAIICT), Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, cordially invites all prospective candidates to the Entrance Examination for admission into its Diploma Programmes.

Details of the Examination:
Venue: CBT Center, Opposite Gymnasium, ABU Main Campus, Samaru, Zaria.
Date: Wednesday, 29th January 2025.
Time: 8:00 AM (prompt).

Candidates are required to:
1. Arrive at the examination venue at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
2. Come with the following:
  - A copy of the application form (mandatory).
  - Writing materials and any other necessary documents as specified during the application process.

ABU Centre for Inland Basins Studies rounds off workshop on Sequence Stratigraphy

The hands-on train-the-trainers workshop on Sequence Stratigraphy organised by Centre for Inland Basins Studies (CIBs), Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria has been rounded off with the presentation of certificates of attendance to the participants.


The workshop, ‘Application of Sequence Stratigraphy to Petroleum Exploration: A Case Study of Sokoto Basin’, was sponsored by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Ahmed Doko Ibrahim, at the closing ceremony of the five-day workshop that began on Monday, 21st August, 2023, presented the certificates to all the participants.
The Vice-Chancellor commended the Director, Centre for Inland Basins Studies (CIBS), Prof. Umar Adamu Danbatta, Local Organising Committee members and other key stakeholders for the successful conduct of the workshop.


Prof. Bala, who was impressed with the turnout of participants for the workshop, also stressed that the knowledge and skills learnt would add great value to their academic works.
In his remarks, the Director, Centre for Inland Basins Studies (CIBS), Prof. Umar Adamu Danbatta, urged the participants to take advantage of their coming together at the workshop to enhance their academic standing.


Prof. Danbatta expressed satisfaction with the quality of presentations by the resource persons and commended the participants for the keen interest they had shown throughout the training workshop.
Some of the dignitaries present at the workshop closing ceremony included the Dean, Faculty of Physical Sciences, Prof. Musa I. Jaro; the Head, Department of Geology, Prof. Muhammad Lawal Garba; Chairman, Local Organising Committee for the workshop, Prof. T. Najime; and many other senior academic staff of the Department of Geology, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
