PRC, SRC organise send forth, special prayer session for ABU’s incoming and outgoing VCs
The Ahmadu Bello University Postgraduate Students Representative Council (PRC) and Students Representative Council (SRC) have organised a send forth in honour of the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala.
The send forth was organised on Tuesday 29th April, 2025 at Yusufu Bala Usman Hall, Main Campus, Samaru, Zaria.
Speaking at the occasion, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, expressed gratitude to the two students bodies for organising the event in his honour.
Prof. Bala noted that it was the first time in the history of the University that students bodies were throwing such a wonderful reception in honour of an outgoing Vice-Chancellor.
He said Ahmadu Bello University was known for greatness, and therefore advised the students to be good ambassadors of the University anywhere they found themselves.
Prof. Bala thanked the students for the gesture and described it as the best of its kind.
In a remark, the incoming Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, expressed delight to the students for inviting him and for organising the prayer session.
Prof. Ahmed reiterated his willingness to work closely with the two apex students bodies in order to improve students welfare in the University.
He appreciated Prof. Bala for his guidance and ensuring a peaceful transition.
Also speaking, the Dean Students Affairs Division, Prof. Sahalu Junaidu, emphasised that Prof. Kabiru Bala was a hardworking administrator who was very committed and diligent at work.
Represented by the Deputy Dean, Dr. Hashim Muhammad Suleiman, the Dean enjoined the students to emulate the exemplary leadership qualities of Prof. Bala.
Earlier in a welcome address, the President, Postgraduate Representative Council, (PRC), Comrade Abdullahi K. Abdullahi, described Prof. Bala as a man of integrity who brought lots of innovations to the University.
In a closing remark, the President of the Students Representative Council (SRC), Comrade Nazeer Ibrahim Kallah, stated that despite the enormous challenges faced by the University within the last five years, Prof. Bala was able to navigate through.
Comrade Kallah congratulated Prof. Bala for a successful tenure and wished him well in his future endeavors.
Highlights of the event were goodwill messages and presentation of awards to the outgoing Vice-Chancellor by the Northern Education Consult, ABU PRC and SRC.
