ABU, staff, students win various awards at Huawei ICT Skills competition
Ahmadu Bello University has clinched the ‘Best Academy Award’ at the National Finals of the Huawei ICT Skills Competition 2024/2025.
The event, which took place in Abuja today (Tuesday, 17th December, 2024), had the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Kabiru Bala, and the Director, IIOE Nigeria National Centre, Prof Muhammad Bashir Mu’azu in attendance.
Staff and students of the University had equally received different awards at the just-concluded competition.
Prof Bala received the ‘Best Supporting Vice-Chancellor Award’ while Engr. Bashir Halliru Sani, IAIICT; Dr Shehu Mohammed Yusuf, Computer Engineering; and Nasir Aminu Lawal, IAIICT bagged the ‘Best Instructors Award’.
Also at the competition finals, the ‘Most Important Personality Award’ went to the Director, IIOE Nigeria National Centre, Prof Muhammad Bashir Mu’azu.
Four students of the University also received awards at the competition.
Erasmus Edward Obeth, a student of Computer Engineering won a 1st position and Nuruddin Kabir of Electrical Engineering came 3rd all in Computing Track.
Also, Adekunle Abdulroqeeb Oladimeji, Electrical Engineering; and Yakubu Musa Yakubu, Computer Science won 2nd and 3rd positions in Cloud Track respectively.
