ABU approves installation of bust at Department of Architecture in honour of late Prof. E.A. Adeyemi
The Governing Council of Ahmadu Bello University has approved the installation of a bust at the Department of Architecture in honour of Prof. E.A. Adeyemi, who was an alumnus of the University.
Prof. Adeyemi was a pioneer and a legend in the field of architecture who left an indelible mark on the profession.
The approval for the installation of the bust at the Department followed recommendation of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, for such honour.
Adeyemi was variously described as the father of many architects in Nigeria whose contributions to the development of architecture in Ahmadu Bello University and the country at large were immeasurable.
The Vice-Chancellor’s recommendation for the recognition of Adeyemi’s selfless services to the University was based on a request from Arc. Mobolaji Adeniyi, President of Nigerian Institute of Architecture (NIA), who is also an alumnus of the University.
The bust in the late Prof. Adeyemi’s honour, according to the recommendation, will serve as a befitting tribute to his legacy and inspire future generations of architects.
