University Health Services disposes expired products on Campus
The Preventive and Sanitation Unit, University Health Services, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria has organized an important exercise aimed at curbing the sale of expired products within the University Community.
The Unit is vested with a wide range of services to the University Community, to ensure a disease-free environment.
Part of the services of the Unit include food safety and hygiene, which is a major responsibility it carries out.
Officers of the Preventive and Sanitation Unit also carry out routine inspection visits to all cafeterias, restaurants, and other eateries within the campus, to boost and enhance the the quality of their food items.
The purpose of the routine inspection is also to ensure operational standard and checkmate expired goods when the need arises and dispose them as it is contained in the professional duties of the Unit.
Items disposed during the exercise included expired peanuts, expired drugs, expired body lotions, and expired toiletries among others.
