ABU greets Chancellor, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, at 85
Ahmadu Bello University has felicitated with its Chancellor, His Majesty, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Ugochukwu Achebe, CFR, on his 85th birthday anniversary.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed, conveyed the institution’s warm wishes to the Chancellor on behalf of the Council, Senate, Management, staff, and students of the university.
In a letter to the Chancellor, ‘Happy Birthday and Coronation Anniversary Wishes’, Prof Ahmed also congratulated His Majesty on the 24th anniversary of his ascension to the throne as the 21st Obi of Onitsha.
The Vice-Chancellor stated that the university appreciated His Majesty’s distinguished record over the years marked by exemplary service that had positively influenced a broad spectrum of individuals and groups both nationally and internationally.
He also explained that Obi of Onitsha’s life epitomised that of an icon whose dedication and pursuits were focused on advancing humanity.
“The outcomes of these endeavors are conspicuous and stand as a testament to Your Majesty’s outstanding contributions”, the Vice-Chancellor further said.
The university, according to him, stood as a testament to His Majesty’s influential fatherly role and leadership as its Chancellor, a position he held with unwavering dedication and commitment.
Prof Ahmed, who deeply appreciated the Chancellor’s efforts in elevating the institution to new heights, wished him good health and many more years of distinguished service to humanity, marked by peace and prosperity.
