MLSCN, RRBN induct 33 ABU graduates
Ahmadu Bello University’s Departments of Medical Laboratory Science and Radiography have organised a combined induction for their pioneer students.
The combined induction ceremony took place today (Monday), 10th February 2025 at the Yusufu Bala Usman Hall, Main Campus, Samaru Zaria.
The Department of Medical Laboratory Science had 22 inductees while the Department of Radiography had 11.
Vice-Chancellor Ahmadu Bello University, Prof. Kabiru Bala, who described the event as historic, congratulated the inductees on the academic accomplishments.
Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Ahmed Doko Ibrahim, the Vice-Chancellor said the two programmes which started in 2017 with humble beginning had lofty aspirations.
He expressed satisfaction with the growth of the two Departments as they have gained full accreditation and expanded their staff capacity from four to over 30.
Earlier in an opening remark, the Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Abdulmumini Hassan Rafindadi, appreciated the University Management for its kind and infrastructure support to the Faculty.
Medical Laboratory Science students were inducted by the Registrar, Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), Prof. Tosan Erhabor who was represented by Dr. Akinwale Akinlabi while Radiography graduates were inducted by the Registrar, Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN), Prof. Mark Chukwudi Okeji who was equally represented by Dr. Ejimofor Malachy Chukwudi.
The Heads of Departments of Medical Laboratory Science and Radiography, Dr Abdurrahman Ahmad El-Fulaty, and Mohammed Yusuf Mohammed, respectively; thanked the University for its vision of excellence that led to the accelerated progress of both Departments.
There were awards for best graduating students in Medical Laboratory Science, Sulaiman Ahmad Halima and Radiography; Abubakar Usman Gimba.
The event was attended by Principal Officers and some Management Staff of the University.
