Dean commends ABU students for wheelchair donation
The Dean of Students, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof Sahalu B Junaid, has expressed gratitude to the students of Sulaiman Hall for donating a wheelchair for sick students.
Prof Junaid, who made the commendation at a brief ceremony where the donation was made, also praised the students commitment towards the promotion of their welfare.
He, particularly commended the Hall Governor, Patience Okoko; Assistant Hall Governor, Sumaiya Hassan Aringizo; and the entire students of Sulaiman Hall for demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and compassion.
The Dean described the initiative as a laudable effort that reflects the values of unity, care, and service among students.
Junaid further lauded the students for contributing resources towards a project that will continue to benefit future generations of students.
He said the wheelchair would serve as an important facility for conveying sick students to the sickbay or health centre whenever the need arose.
Donating the wheelchair, the Hall Governor, Patience Okoko, appreciated all students, hall representatives, and other individuals who contributed to making the project a reality.
She said the donation was a clear demonstration of what could be achieved when students work together for a common purpose.
Patience encouraged students to continue to support one another and to sustain the spirit of cooperation and mutual assistance among themselves.
A major highlight of the event was the presentation of gifts to some deserving casual staff members of Sulaiman Hall of Residence by students.
The gesture was in recognition of their dedication and valuable services at the hall of residence.
The Dean of Students was accompanied to the event by some key staff of the Students Affairs Division, including the Staff Officer, Hajiya Salima Mohammed.
Outgoing President of Student Representatives Council (SRC), Comrade Abdulrahman Halliru Saraki; and SRC President-elect, Comrade Auwal Sani, were also present.
