. As the institution’s Directorate system takes off

Three senior Deputy Registrars at Ahmadu Bello University have been appointed as Directors.

They are Malam Yakubu Audu Anivbassa, Mrs. Janet O Kwaga, and Malam Sani Abashe Adamu.

This followed approval of the University Governing Council for the establishment of the Directorate system in the Registry and the completion of modalities for its take-off.

Accordingly, Malam Anivbassa will serve as the Director, Human Resources, while Mrs. Kwaga is to head Academic Affairs as the Director.

Malam Abashe is appointed to serve as the Director, General Administration.

Anivbassa and Abashe were, until the appointments, Ag. Directors for Human Resources and General Administration respectively.

The three appointments, which were conveyed in a seperate letter to each of them by the Registrar, Rabiu Samaila, take effect from the date they assume duty.

The new Directors will be responsible to the Registrar for the day-to-day operations of the Directorates.

This is by providing briefings at regular meetings or upon request on all matters handled by the Directorates and performing any additional duties delegated by the Registrar as required.

In the letter, they were reminded that the Directorates currently require urgent repositioning to improve their efficiency and effectiveness in discharging their responsibilities.

They were also provided with a detailed outline of the Directorates’ key duties, key performance indicators (KPIs), expected outcomes, and timelines from the date of their assumption to the next six months to guide them in handling the new responsibilities.
