ABU, China’s DazzleView Technology sign partnership on smart education
A strategic partnership for Nigeria’s national smart education and digital transformation has been jointly signed between Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and Guangzhou DazzleView Intelligent Technology Company Ltd.
The partnership was signed through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by both parties at DazzleView Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd, Guangzhou, China on Monday, 1st June, 2026.
Essentially, the MoU focuses on cooperation between ABU and DazzleView on national-level education informatization projects for Nigeria (using ABU as a use-case).
This is expected to cover demand collection, project design, funding mobilisation, and implementation pathways.
DazzleView is a leading Chinese enterprise specialising in smart education solutions, national-level education digitalization projects, and cross-border educational technology cooperation.
The Chinese firm, formerly known as CreateView, had, in 2022, donated a smart classroom to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
The donation was made together with UNESCO-ICHEI (UNESCO International Centre for Higher Education Innovation).
Under the scope of cooperation both parties shall cooperate on development and implementation of national-level smart education projects for Nigeria.
This will include but not limited to national smart classroom deployment, education digital infrastructure upgrade, AI teaching system rollout, and campus management platform standardization.
The two parties shall jointly establish a joint working group to coordinate overall project advancement, align requirements, and address all issues arising during implementation.
They shall also strictly adhere to the principles of equality and mutual benefit, good faith, confidentiality and compliance.
Both organisations are expected to jointly promote compliance reviews by government authorities of both countries, and actively advance the implementation of national-level loan schemes.
They also agreed to carry out respective work within their responsibilities under the framework arrangement, in addition to establishing an efficient, timely and stable regular communication mechanism to ensure orderly cooperation.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed, signed the MoU on behalf of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria, while the Founder and Managing Director of DazzleView, Mr. Tony Wu, stood in for the company.
The MoU signing ceremony was witnessed by top leadership of DazzleView that included Mr. Summer Lee and Ms. Shirley Kong, all Directors of the company.
Others were representative of UNESCO-ICHEI, Mr. Tim Tang; and representative of the Chairman of Shenzhen Mingyi Industrial Development Co. Ltd, Mr. Canny Li.
The Consular-General, Consulate of Republic of Zambia in Guangzhou, Dr Daniel Shimunza, equally attended the event.
The Zambian envoy expressed interest to the Chinese firm on understudying the cooperation between ABU and DazzleView.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed, was accompanied to the event by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof Raymond B Bako; and the Director, ABU Distance Learning Centre and IIOE Nigeria National Centre, Prof Muhammed Bashir Mu’azu.
Others were the Director, IAIICT, Prof Emmanuel Adewale Adedokun; Deputy Director, IAIICT, Dr Bashir Halliru Sani; and Technical Lead, IIOE Nigeria National Centre, Dr Zaharaddeen Haruna.
