Prof Rafindadi chairs Governing Board for Window on America at ABU
Prof Aliyu Rafindadi Sanusi is the Chairman of the Governing Board of Window on America at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
The Window on America is hosted at the famous Kashim Ibrahim Library (KIL) at the main campus of the university at Samaru in Zaria.
Rafindadi, whose appointment was approved by the University Management, is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Advancement, Research and Innovation.
The board is established to provide strategic direction, oversight and coordination for the effective operation of the window.
The board is expected to work closely with the library to ensure the effective administration, development and sustainability of the centre.
The Prof Rafindadi-led board shall provide overall guidance and oversight for the activities of the window.
Additionally, it shall ensure that its programmes and activities are aligned with the university’s strategic objectives and the purpose for which the window was established.
To facilitate its work, the board is charged to operate through three standing committees namely: Linkages and Collaborative Committee; Publicity Committee; and Library Resources Committee.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed, expressed confidence that members of the board would bring their experience, commitment and expertise to this all important assignment.
Other members of the board include Director, University Advancement and International Education; and Prof Adale Garkida, Department of Glass and Silicate Technology.
They also include the University Librarian, Head of Mass Communication Department, and Mr. Dauda Mohammed of Registry, who will serve as the board Secretary.
