US Public Diplomacy Officer visits ABU, calls on VC

The Public Diplomacy Officer at the United States Embassy in Abuja, Raisa Dulcas, has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Prof Adamu Ahmed.

Raisa was at the university to train some staff and students, in addition to checking on the ‘Window on America Facilty’ in the in the institution.

Accompanied by American Spaces Director; Grace Lamon and youth engagement specialist; Diran Adegoke, Dulcas emphasized that the Window on America is a partnership that would span across education and culture.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed, assured her of ABU’s readiness to collaborate and Partner with the US government.

Prof Ahmed was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof Bello Sabo.

He reiterated ABU’s commitment to maximizing the partnership by constituting a six member governing board that will comprise relevant and committed staff for the oversight activities of the Window on America.

According to him, the the governing board shall ensure all activities and programmes are aligned with the strategic objectives of the university.

He appreciated the training of staff and students and assured them that it would be passed to other members of the university.

Those present during the visit included the Ag. University Librarian, Dr Abubakar Abdullahi Muhammed; Deputy Bursar, Ibrahim Salisu; Prof Adele Garkida; Prof Joseph Azi; and Dr Aminu Musa Umar.
