VC inspects new ABU DLC building at Phase II
… Impressed with facilities at the new CBT centre
The Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof Adamu Ahmed, has inspected the new building of the Distance Learning Centre at the University Phase II.
He inspected the building today (Wednesday, 12th August, 2026).
The Vice-Chancellor expressed satisfaction with the state of the art facilities deployed at the centre.
Prof Ahmed commended the Director of the Centre Prof M B Muazu for a job well done.
According to him, the new Computer Based Test (CBT) centre would ease the burden faced by students writing General Studies (Gens) exams.
Also speaking, the Director, Distance Learning Centre, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Prof M B Muazu, disclosed that the expected number of computers to be installed are 1,200.
Prof Muazu stated that they had successfully installed over 800 computers at the centre, and that hopefully they would be used in writing second semester exams.
The Director stressed that the security personnel recruited by DLC had passed out, saying they have CCTV cameras that cover the entire perimeter.
He said there is also a security outpost which was undertaken by DLC.
According to Muazu, they have also recruited casuals for effective maintenance of the buildings and facilities and constructed enough toilets for both males and females.
Those who supported the Vice-Chancellor during the inspection were the Director, Academic Planning and Monitoring, Prof Bello Mukhtar; Director IAIICT, Prof E O Adedokun; Director PP&MS, M H Mukhtar; and Director Public Affairs Directorate, Auwalu Umar.
Others were Deputy Director; IAIICT, Dr Bashir Sani; and the Administrative Secretary, Iya Abubakar Institute of ICT, Malam Usman Shehu Lawal, among others.
