ABU’s Prof Raymond Bako is among ‘100 Most Impactful Education Personalities in Africa’

Prof Raymond B Bako of the Department of Educational Foundations and Curriculum, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, is one of the 100 ‘Most Impactful Education Personalities in Africa’ (2025).

Bako, currently the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Ahmadu Bello University, was recognised during the 4th Africa Education Summit held at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, Ghana on Friday, 20th March, 2026.

The recognition was on account of his “exceptional contributions to the advancement of education and for transformative impact in strengthening learning, leadership, and educational development across Africa”.

Prof Bako was presented with a certificate of achievement at the occasion. He was accompanied to the event by Prof Wisdom S Japheth, Centre Leader, SPESSCE, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Expectedly, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed, on behalf of the university management and entire academic community, congratulated Prof Bako on the well-deserved feat.

“This prestigious honour is a clear testament to your exceptional leadership, unwavering commitment to academic excellence, and significant contributions to the advancement of education in Africa.

“Your dedication to strengthening teaching, research, and academic administration continues to inspire colleagues and students alike, while bringing pride and distinction to our university”, he stated.

The Vice-Chancellor also stressed that the university was immensely proud of the remarkable achievement.

He therefore expressed confidence that Prof Bako’s continued service would further elavate the standard of higher education and institutional development.
