ABU management team pays thank-you visit to Emir of Zazzau
. For fatherly support during the institution’s 45th Convocation Ceremonies
A delegation from Ahmadu Bello University led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adamu Ahmed, has paid a thank-you visit to His Highness, Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, CFR, Emir of Zazzau, for the fatherly support during the institution’s 45th Convocation Ceremonies.
They were at the Emir’s Palace this evening (Wednesday, 4th February, 2026) to convey to His Highness the profound appreciation of Council, Senate, Staff, and Students of the university for his immense support towards the success of the event.
The Vice-Chancellor stated that the university must acknowledge His Highness’ strong support in ensuring that all things went well throughout the ceremonies.
He stated that for three consecutive days the Emir was at the university to attend a public lecture, pre-convocation lecture, and the convocation ceremony.
Prof Ahmed also said ABU was humbled by the Emir’s uncommon gesture, stressing that the university could not thank him enough.
The Vice-Chancellor noted that was always ready to be at the university for events that have direct impact on the society despite his tight schedules.
Prof Ahmed prayed to Allah SWT to continue to guide the Emir as well as give him good health and wisdom in the discharge of his fatherly role.
Responding, His Highness, Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, CFR, Emir of Zazzau, congratulated the university management on the successful 45th convocation ceremonies.
The Emir described the event as the “most organised in the last forty years”, urging the university authorities to keep the tempo.
His Highness was particularly excited to see the participation of Mainstream Energy Solutions Ltd and AMA-Pharmaceuticals Ltd in the event.
He expressed gratitude to the companies for their tremendous support towards the success of the convocation ceremonies.
The Emir also thanked the Vice-Chancellor and his management team for the visit and acknowledgement of the role the Zazzau Emirate was playing in the growth and development of Ahmadu Bello University.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof Bello Sabo; Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof Raymond B Bako; and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Advancement, Research, and Innovation, Prof Sanusi Rafindadi Aliyu, were on the delegation.
Others were the Registrar, Rabiu Samaila; Ag. University Librarian, Dr Abubakar Mohammed Abdullahi; Director, Public Affairs, Auwalu Umar; and Principal Assistant Registrar, Musa Aliu.
