I do sports for physical fitness and also for fun; and because I do get a lot of fun out of it, I’ll advise other ABU students to also try and participate in one kind of sporting activity or the other. You know, apart from the fun, it’s also very good for health, yeah very important! Besides, you also get to see and meet many more people in an environment that is more relaxed than the academic areas in classes and labs. Sometimes you even learn a new thing or two from other people here, which makes life even more fulfilling.
AMINA Salisu Sani, 400L, BEd (Chemistry Education):
Myself and Aisha and Halima do find time to come here (to the ABU Sports Complex) often, in order to stretch and sweat a bit even though most other people don’t seem to like engaging in physical fitness activities. Some of them know that they need it; but perhaps because they are shy or something, they don’t come out. But you see, it’s really really good for everybody because University life is not just about reading all the time. Exercise is essential for our brains to assimilate what we are reading and for the body as a whole to rejuvenate after the stress and rigours of academics.
HALIMA Lawal, 200L, BEd (Business Education):
Sports is certainly good for us, yeah! You know… it keeps us fit and makes us energetic. So it’s good always to be having time for some exercise. See, I’m just starting today actually and I’m already feeling all the positivity you can get out of physical exercise. So I’ll definitely be coming more frequently now, like at least once every weekend, sure!
