The Iya Abubakar Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IAIICT) Ahmadu Bello Universitu has organised an Orientation for the newly admitted diploma 1 students, the orientation held on Thursday at the Assembly Hall, Main campus, Samaru.
In her remarks, the representative of the dean of students affairs Prof. Y. Y. Bambale assured that, Students welfarism and wellbeing were the core aspects of Student Affairs Unit,she further assured that the University is working hard in maintaining the internet service across the campuses for students and staff of the university.
On the issue of accommodation, the dean stated that, “ there is lack of accommodation spaces to cater all the needs of students accomodation needs in the populated Ahmadu Bello University, and as such, diploma students are excluded from getting accommodation ”.
The Dean, also warned that newly admitted diploma students should stay away from accommodation racketeering “accommodation racketeering is a serious offence that can lead to the withdrawal of student from the university”.
The Prof. Bambale further assured that all students of Ahmadu Bello University can enjoy access to the university’s internet service as soon as he/she submit his/her details at the Students affairs division located at the Senate Building.
It was further stated that the University's internet service covers all the campuses of Congo Campus,NAERLS,IAR,NAPRI, and Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika.
In his remarks, Muhammad Sunusi Adamu, the representative of the Chief Security officer of the university warned the students to be security cautious at all times and stay away from any activity that will endanger lives.
